Bluetooth Connectivity
Thanks to Remootio's Bluetooth connectivity, you can control your gates even when WiFi is not available at your gates or when the internet service is down.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
You can also connect Remootio to your home WiFi and control your gates from anywhere within your house. In this mode, no data goes through the internet.
Internet Connectivity
Thanks to Remootio's internet connectivity, you can control and monitor your gates from anywhere in the world.You can setup internet access easily with a simple click in the Remootio App.
Compatible with Alexa & Google Home
Remootio is also compatible with Alexa and Google Home, so you can ask them to close or open the gate for you and you may also ask them her if your gates are left open. If you wish to use Alexa or Google Home with Remootio, choose the version with the sensor add-on so that Remootio (and therefore Alexa and Google Home) is aware of your gate's status.
Easy Keysharing
You can easily share keys with family and friends or even Airbnb guests via QR code or via text message. (You can also use the messaging platform of any social media apps to share keys). Remootio comes with a guest key (this can be shared with an unlimited number of people) and 20 unique keys which you can manage one by one in a simple, easy to understand table.
Auto Open Via Geo-Fencing
Remootio can open the gates automatically as you approach them if you turn on the auto-open feature in the Remootio app.
Check Gate Status
You can check whether your gate is open or closed from the Remootio app any time. This feature requires the sensor to be installed.
In-App Notifications
A certain key holder operated the gate. For example you would like to know when your child arrives home or this device can be connected to a door bell.

Is Remootio compatible with my gate or garage door opener?
Remootio is compatible with most gate and garage door openers. Remootio works with any openers that expect a normally open relay input. If you are not sure, please check our non-comprehensive list of compatible openers.
How secure is Remootio?
Authenticated 256 bit End-to-end encryption is used for communication between your Remootio device and your phone. Even if hackers eavesdrop the communication, and repeat the same signals to the remootio device, it will not execute the instructions of the hacker, because for every command a unique mathematical problem is generated which can only be solved using the encryption key stored on both the Remootio device and your phone.

Is it easy to install Remootio? What tools do I need?
All you need for installation is a cross head screw driver. Simply plug in the included power jack and connect the provided cable to the control input terminals of your gate or garage door opener. (These are the same ports your remote control receiver is connected to). Detailed instructions are included in the box.
What is included in the box?
The basic package includes a Remootio device, a 1m (3.28ft) long power cable, a 1m (3.28ft) long control output cable and a strong die-cut double sided tape. The version with sensor also contains an actuator (magnet) and a sensor with 1.5m (4.92ft) cable for detecting whether your gate is opened or closed.
What smart home hubs is Remootio compatible with?
Remootio is currently compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
How many virtual keys are included?
20 individually manageable and unlimited guest keys are included. You can extend the number of unique keys later on (coming soon).
How many Remootio devices can be added in the app?
Theoretically there is no limit to the number of gates, however, the memory and other parameters of your phone may set a limit to the maximum number.
How can I share the keys with someone?
You can share keys via QR code or by sending it as a message to the recipient. You may revoke these keys at any time. (In order to revoke keys, you need to connect to the device via Bluetooth, WiFi or the internet).
What is Bluetooth good for?
You can connect to your Remootio device even if Wifi or Internet is not available at your gate or garage door. Bluetooth is also used for the auto-open feature.
What is WiFi good for?
You can connect to your device from your home WiFi even if you are out of the Bluetooth range. In this mode signals do not leave your home WiFi (meaning that no data goes out to the internet).
What is the internet access good for?
You can open, close or monitor your gate or garage door no matter where you are in the world (as long as you have internet access on your smart phone and at your gate). For example you may open the gate or garage door if the courier arrived, or if your kids lost their keys and you want to let them in. You can also check if you forgot to close the gates or garage doors if you have the sensor add-on.
Is technical knowledge needed for setting up internet access?
It is very easy to setup WiFi and internet access in a few simple steps via the Remootio app even for non-experienced users. All you need to know is the name (SSID) of your WiFi network and the password. For experienced users we provide an option to setup their own connection with much more details.
Do I need to create an account to use the device?
No. We made it as hassle-free as possible. You only need to create an account if you want to use Remootio with Amazon Alexa.
How do I know if I need the Remootio power adapter?
If you can locate the power supply terminals of your gate or garage door opener and the supply voltage is between 6-36VDC or 12-24VAC and it is able to deliver 0,5A current, then you do not need to buy the additional power adapter. Please check our non-comprehensive compatibility page, where you find more information about how to install the Remootio device.
Are there any subscription fees?
No. There are no subscription fees. All usage-related costs are included in the price.
What operating systems is the Remootio app compatible with?
The Remootio app is compatible with iOS (10.0 and above) and Android (5.0 and above).
