Single Farm Gate Opener Systems

We supply a wide range of gate automation systems for five bar estate gates or large single farm gates.  All our single gate kits come as standard with a Viro V96 electric lock.

The electric lock protects the motors from being forced and adds extra security to the system.  "If it needs it we include it".

Choosing Your System

We provide electric gate kits to cover all wooden farm type estate gates, metal seven bar farm gates and large single wrought iron gates.  The maximum single wing size we can automate is 5m.

     The stroke of the motor is more important than the power. 

Stroke

Although a 310mm stroke 240v motor has enough power .....

If you put a 280 - 310 mm stroke motor on a large 3m wing gate it will open too fast, and trip off too easily. 

At the electric gate shop we only recommend the use of a 410mm or 510mm stroke, to give you a long trouble free life

Weight

All our above ground motors will handle gates upto 300 kg per wing. (Guide - If two people can lift one of your wings they won't weigh above 200 kg.)

Power

Remember your gates are on hinges and you can swing them by hand, you dont want a motor that can move 1/2 ton, you need one that will move your gates and still trip off if it hits an obstruction easily.

Our gate kits are matched so when they are working they are set at half power.  This gives you the ability to turn the power up or down.

We dont sell gate motors that need to run on full power.

Motor Placement

On wooden estate gates and steel seven bar farm gates we reccomend fitting the motor to the top bar.  If your gates are hinged between the posts the motor will fasten to the back face of the post, however if the gates are hinged from the back face you can still automate them but a longer bracket is required.

On large heavy metal gates it is preferable to mount the motor on the center support or near the bottom depending on the construction.
